a century of silence.
A single Romulan Bird-of-Prey emerged from the Neutral Zone, destroyed Federation outposts, and drew the USS Enterprise into a deadly game of cat and mouse in the classic Original Series episode “Balance of Terror.”
Equipped with a cloaking device and an enormously powerful plasma weapon, the vessel reintroduced the Romulans as a deadly threat—capable of striking without warning and vanishing before its target could respond. Its stark hull and enormous painted raptor made it one of the most distinctive starship designs of the Original Series era.
This one-of-one 1/1000-scale Romulan Bird-of-Prey has been fully assembled, painted, weathered, detailed, and illuminated by Modelwerks artist Ron Gamble.
Built from the Polar Lights kit, the completed model features an airbrushed bare-metal hull with Aztec paneling, carefully shaded panel details, the ship’s unmistakable red-and-black bird-of-prey markings across the underside, and brilliant illuminated engine nacelles. The lighting transforms the familiar vessel into a dramatic display piece ready to take its place opposite any Constitution-class starship.
